Notice of Non Warranty

Hundreds upon hundreds of different types of cars have thousands upon thousands of moving parts. Old cars are just that - old. A water pump can be fine one day and squealing or leaking the next. Heater blower motors quit in a moments notice. Alternators stop charging without warning. Grounds can stop grounding...and the list goes on. Cars that have been restored, fully or partially, have numerous parts that are already worn to some degree between 1% and 99.9%. Sometimes this wear is visible, sometimes it can be felt or heard, and other times there's nothing too abnormal to notice. Only one thing is for certain...if it's old and it moves, one day it's going to break!! Paint and body wear is very subjective. A talented bodyman and painter can disguise their work well. So, be hopeful and affirm the best, but don't be naive, or you'll be disappointed. Realistic expectations will net you realistic results.

The Auto Appraise Affiliate network has done an excellent job creating a group of well-seasoned inspectors to begin the work of independent reporting in the long distance car purchasing process. We have interviewed countless applicants and continue to do so in an effort to provide you with the smartest inspectors we can find. This is what some of them do for a career...not just a sideline or hobby (call us for specific background info on individual inspectors). These inspectors do what they can to report the vehicle's current condition. They are not specialists on any one particular car, but possess good general car knowledge, regardless of vehicle type. If you choose to contract our services, understand that you are purchasing an opinion, not a warranty. The information we present to you is intended only to assist you in the decision process, a decision that ultimately rests solely upon your shoulders. Auto Appraise, Inc. and or its affiliates will never recommend that you purchase a car. If you choose to purchase, we always recommend that you travel to the car personally and view it, to make certain that the photos and reported information match your expectations. If you are a novus, then you should consult an expert of the particular make you intend to purchase and get a second opinion. Do not wait until AFTER you purchase a car to do this. Auto Appraise, Inc. and its affiliates do not bond, insure or guarantee anything.period. If you seek a guarantee, get it from the seller of the car.

Finally, it is a well-known fact that fraud is rampant within the old car hobby regarding the term "numbers matching." In some cases, you can pay Auto Appraise, Inc. an extra fee for numbers to be cleaned and photographed (see published breakdown of costs on our pre-purchase inspection page). In these cases, inspectors do their best to capture the numbers that they view on selected parts and describe how they look. But please be clear that no guarantee is made to the authenticity of any numbers inspected...period. In many cases numbers are not easily viewable or legible. On site inspectors are never experts of these matters, only photographers. If you seek a guarantee, then ask the seller of the vehicle for one in writing before purchasing an alleged original or matching vehicle. You should also consult an expert of the specific make of car you are seeking BEFORE you purchase, to help verify authenticity. This includes representation of original body parts, original paint, original interior components, drive train and chassis components, etc. Auto Appraise, Inc. does not guarantee or warranty anything on any inspected car...EVER!

Our best advice: Study the photos we provide. Photos often pick up missed information on-site. Read and absorb the information we provide. After closely reviewing all of the information, make a list of questions you may have, and email them to us. We will gladly review them and respond. The owner Jason Phillips will make every effort to call you back quickly and discuss your concerns. After contracting an inspection, if you do seek an insurance appraisal of value, you can pay for one (see published breakdown of costs on our pre-purchase inspection page). Please be advised if we appraise for value, it is a recommendation of what to insure the car for, NOT what to purchase it for. Lastly, everybody is in a hurry. Don't rush yourself into a bad decision. The biggest mistakes are always made in this scenario. Most sellers are pros at making buyers feel like they are about to lose out if an immediate decision is not made. Stay sharp, don not succumb to pressure, and be willing to walk away. Auto Appraise, Inc. is a Michigan based corporation and remotely contracting our services constitutes making a binding legal agreement in the state of Michigan. Regardless of buyer and seller locations, if you choose to hire us and then later decide to bring legal action against us or any of our affiliates, that action must be brought to Genesee County, Flint Michigan.

THE RECAP
You are purchasing an opinion, not a warranty. We are not specific experts of any particular car and we make mistakes, so expect some. Sellers routinely mis-represent, we are not detectives. Contracts to purchase cars are between buyers and sellers. We are neither of those parties. Seek a second opinion and consult an expert of the exact car type you intend to purchase, before you choose to purchase. Everybody is in a hurry, and that's not our problem. Be a responsible consumer and understand the service we provide. If you have read all of the above paragraphs and can live with these terms, then we welcome you to hire us. By hiring us, you automatically agree to all published terms above, with no conditions or exceptions.

Thank you!
